Thought we share as our Dentist was in news.
Dr Miryala serving as a guest Instructor at McMurry University, Abilene, TX on Oct 26,2017. He was part of a team of Army Medical Recruiters involving premedical students. The goal was to spread the word of Army Medicine and Dentistry. The course was to teach students how to suture wounds. This could be a life saving training in absence of medical help. Dusty Baker with KRBC News was there to cover the event. I would like to share some advise on after Halloween dental care! 1) Parents need to look into the collection of candy---separate and discard all the sticky candies. Sticky candies that kids chew on are the worst type for teeth. They get stuck in the teeth and stay there for many days causing cavities. Sticky candies are the common cause of fillings and crowns coming loose. 2) It is that time of the year where parents need to watch and make sure the kids are following the brushing and flossing routine. I advise you to take the few minutes and make sure the kids are brushing all surfaces to get rid of the high sugary treats 3) Kids and adults with lot of dental work must pay attention to the fillings or crowns that they have. Make sure everything looks and feels right- when in doubt- make a quick call to the dentist. 4) halloween, thanksgiving and christmas are good times to schedule your annual or bi-annual dental visit. A dentist/hygeine check with oral care instructions are good thing for kids going into the holiday season so they can enjoy the holiday treats with care and caution. |
